Department of Agronomy and Horticulture at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln is pleased to accept applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate position in Soil Science. This is a 12-month, non-tenure leading position established for a period of one year. Continuation of the position beyond one year is dependent upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent in successfully accomplishing assigned duties, and upon the availability of grant funds.
The incumbent will conduct multi-location field studies of soil management practices across Nebraska. The incumbent will specifically evaluate the impact of cover crops, conservation tillage, biochar, and other practices on crop yields, soil erosion, soil physical processes, water use efficiency, carbon sequestration, nitrate leaching, and soil health parameters in rainfed and irrigated systems. Previous field work experience in the above topics and meta-analysis of data is highly preferred. The incumbent must publish research results in refereed journals, develop review articles using meta-analysis approaches for peer-reviewed publication, and prepare nationally competitive grant proposals. He/she must have demonstrated ability to publish in prestigious journals. The incumbent must have the ability to work independently as well as with a diverse team of researchers.

Requires a Ph.D. or Ph.D. degree in place by date of employment in Soil Science, Agronomy or related field in agriculture. The successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills as well as outstanding publication record.
