The Ohio State University invites applications for a postdoctoral research position focused on long-term tillage and crop rotation experiments in Ohio. This position will be responsible to synthesize nearly 60 years of crop yield data from the Triplett-Van Doren long-term experiment, explore resilience of crop performance to climate anomalies, and evaluate the long term impact of tillage and crop rotation on soil organic carbon stocks. The selected candidate will also provide support to create a public database to share data and experiment information with a broad range of stakeholders, and develop a comprehensive report of data availability and publications.
Responsibilities include:
Write scholarly journal articles reporting main findings of long-term field experiments.
Assist with compilation efforts of soil and crop/yield data as well as management notes from the experiment.
Provide support to create a public database and input data, experiment description, and management information.
Play collaborative role in coordinating research efforts across multiple states and institutions.
Contribute to on-farm research efforts to engage with producers.
Help with management and maintenance of the Triplett-Van Doren long-term experiment.
Required Qualifications
PhD in ecology, agronomy, soil science, environmental sciences or related field
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in managing and analyzing large data sets, and conducting literature synthesis.
