Department Name: 40520:KY Geological SurveyJob Summary: The Kentucky Geological Survey, a publicly supported research center within the University of Kentucky, is recruiting a Geologist II with soil/sediment analysis experience. This innovative person will work within a mapping team, where each member is responsible for separate components of a final deliverable product(s). This Geologist II will be responsible for soil sample processing and storage, soil analysis and data entry, and appropriate care and safety of analytical spaces. Analyses include: grain size, total carbon, mineralogy, chemistry, and microscopy, but can be extended to include additional techniques within the expertise of the person hired.
