Job Description Conducts research on soil carbon dynamics and soil health along a continuum of diverse land uses/management on diverse farms in Stark County, OH; designs and conducts on-farm experiments and lab analyses aimed at understanding processes, factors and causes of soil health, carbon sequestration and crop yield; collates data on soil and land-use management history of the field sites including crop rotation, fertilization, tillage, etc., and crop yield data; organizes farm field days and conducts farm surveys on soil health; prepares manuscripts related to journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and fact sheets; prepares presentations and presents findings at local, regional and national meetings; prepares general summary reports for public dissemination, and prepares project reports
Required Qualifications Required: Experience conducting research on soil health, soil organic carbon, field experiments on soil management and agronomy; lab analyses and field measurements of soil physical and chemical properties, and crop agronomy; performs statistical analyses of the research data; valid driver's license required for trips to field sites.
Desired Qualifications
Research experience and use of laboratory/field equipment related to soil physical, chemical, and biological analyses and sampling is desirable.
Minimum Education Required Post-Doctorate or equivalent combination of education and experience
