South Central College is accepting applications for an Unlimited, Full-Time Agribusiness Faculty position. We are seeking an instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires being part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community.
The successful candidate will be responsible for classroom instruction. He/she will be expected to work as a team member in maintaining a learning environment that meets the educational requirements of the post-secondary student.
Classes are held on the North Mankato, MN campus, typically during daytime hours, Monday-Friday. Courses anticipated being taught by this position could include topics such as Soils, Agronomy, Precision Agriculture, Ag Selling Skills, Alternative Agriculture, Introduction to Ag Economics, Livestock Production, Agribusiness Financial Management, Commodity Marketing, and Agribusiness Internship. Supervising interns includes some responsibility during summer months, traveling to internship locations.
Participation in the Minnesota Association of Agricultural Educators (MAAE) organization professional development events is an expectation of this position. Visits to high schools for the purpose of recruitment and working with the Regional FFA advisors to host and conduct events on Campus, attend the state FFA convention for the purpose of recruitment and share in the responsibilities of the Professional Agriculture Student (PAS) Organization to execute the program of activities for the SCC student organization.
Required Qualifications:
Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in agriculture, agriculture education business, finance, economics or marketing.
Occupational Experience Requirement: Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in agribusiness.
Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualifications:
MS in Agriculture, Agricultural Education, Agronomy, Agribusiness, Soils, Plant and/or Plant Sciences
