Overview: Perdue Farms is seeking a full-time Assistant General Counsel to join its corporate team.  The Counsel will serve as the primary legal contact for Perdue’s food and agriculture business. A corporate generalist, the Counsel will handle general corporate matters, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiation and drafting, and real estate matters. Additionally, the Counsel will support other members of the legal team and will supervise more junior lawyers and other colleagues as is needed.

Company: Perdue Farms Inc. and subsidiaries (“Perdue”) is a vertically integrated producer, processor, marketer, and distributor of a comprehensive line of protein products. The Company is also a merchandiser and processor of grain and related agricultural products. The Company maintains its headquarters in Salisbury, Maryland and employs over 20,000 associates at facilities principally in North America. The Company currently operates in two primary business segments, Perdue Foods (including Premium Poultry, Perdue Premium Meat Company (PPMC), and Prepared Foods’ products) and Perdue AgriBusiness.

Experience: 12 – 15 years of relevant corporate transactional experience working as an in-house counsel to business leaders or in a major law firm. Familiarity with Food, including CPG, and Agriculture businesses or other regulated industries is a plus.

Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Location: Salisbury, MD, Perdue Farm’s corporate headquarters.
