The College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES) seeks a chair for the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Design.
The CAES seeks a dynamic leader and scholar to serve in this critical role and continue the upward trajectory of this flourishing and highly visible department. The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate or terminal degree in Environmental Sciences, Soil Science, Plant Science, Agronomy, Land Resources and Management, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Agricultural/Biological Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university. Administrative supervisory experience in an institution of higher education with a strong track record of program success in developing, sustaining, advancing instructional outcomes and evaluating programs is required. Work experience within a land grant university is preferred (5 years). Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and positively with students, faculty, staff and other university administrators. In addition, applicants should possess a distinguished record of research, teaching, scholarly achievement, and service. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a successful track record in gaining support from constituencies outside the University, such as, business and industry, state and federal agencies, and private foundations. This role is excellent for a person seeking to be part of a growing academic enterprise on the cutting edge of discovery, learning, and engagement. The Chair shall provide innovative leadership to build upon the excellent research and educational activities within the department.
PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Environmental Sciences, Soil Science, Plant Science, Agronomy, Land Resources and Management, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Agricultural/Biological Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university. Minimum of six years of demonstrated excellence in teaching and creative/research activities consistent with eligibility for appointment at the rank of associate professor or full professor.
