The postdoctoral researcher will conduct multi-location field studies of soil management practices including cover crops, conservation tillage, and biochar. The person in this position will be involved in heavy seasonal field work to manage the experiments and collect field data across distant sites in Nebraska. The incumbent should have the ability to work independently as well as with team members. He/she will focus on the study of soil physical processes, water use efficiency, water quality, carbon and nutrient cycling, and other soil services. Previous work experience in the above topics is highly preferred. He/she will be required to publish research results in high quality journals, develop comprehensive review articles, and prepare nationally competitive grant proposals. The postdoctoral researcher in this position must be highly self-motivated to excel beyond expectations. Also, the applicant must have demonstrated ability to rapidly disseminate research results in prestigious outlets.
The position requires a Ph.D. or Ph.D. degree in place by date of employment in Soil Science, Agronomy or related field in agriculture. The successful candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills as well as outstanding publication record.
